A Day in the Life at Commonwealth Senior Living at Farnham

At Commonwealth Senior Living at Farnham, our residents enjoy privacy, dignity, and maintenance-free living. With a simple step outside their suite doors, they are enveloped into a vibrant community filled with friendly neighbors. Our residents participate in a variety of programs, enjoy exceptional dining, helpful services, gracious amenities, and more. Today, we’d like to walk you through a day in the life of our residents.

In the morning, our residents wake up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee and tea that accompanies the delicious breakfast made by our Dining Services team. After breakfast, we enjoy a variety of peaceful activities like morning devotionals, yoga, or stepping into the fresh air and sunshine in our courtyard.

We spice it up in the afternoon by trying Dining Delights recipes from our monthly Travel the World program theme. We’ve tried everything you can imagine from Zabatidi, an Egyptian Salatit, to Elote, a Mexican street corn from the Grand Canyon. We continue the fun after lunch using our Eversound headphones to play bingo and bring even more engagement to our activities, or sometimes by playing our very own game shows like Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, or Farnham’s Got Talent.

Weekends are just as exciting as our weekdays at Commonwealth Senior Living at Farnham. We may spend time at Calvary United Methodist Church, Ebenezer Baptist Church, the Amish Farm Stand, or the Morattico Waterfront Museum, or enjoy the outdoors at Belle Isle Park or the Rappahannock River Valley National Wildlife Refuge. Chesapeake Medical Group, Dameron Family Health and Wellness, Richard Dunn MD Family Practice, VCU Health Tappahannock Hospital, and Rappahannock General Hospital are also in the area for any assistance our residents need outside our community.

Mark, one of our residents’ loved ones, said, “One important element that Commonwealth Senior Living has that you don’t always find is the level of love. True love and compassion. The kind that will go to whatever distance is necessary to take care of their residents and I love that we have that here.”

We are grateful for each and every one of our residents and associates. Improving the lives of seniors and their families is central to everything we do at Commonwealth Senior Living, so understanding who our residents are and their stories allows us to provide them with meaningful, person-centered care and peace of mind for their families. You can read more of what families are saying here. Based on feedback from our families and residents, we are also proud to be recognized as Best Memory Care by U.S. News & World Report for 2022 and Best Independent Living in Farnham, Virginia for 2023.

But don’t just take it from us. Make an appointment to see our beautiful community for yourself.
