Richard J. Brewer – Chief Executive Officer
Richard began in the senior housing industry over 20 years ago with a family-owned company that opened the first assisted living community in Virginia. Working in a small company, in an industry that was new to Virginia, he was involved in all aspects of the business. This experience proved to be instrumental in the success of Commonwealth Senior Living as it led to the design and implementation of CSL’s strategic growth plan.
Understanding the roles resident satisfaction and employee engagement play in an organization’s long term success, Richard brought together a team of professionals to focus on these key areas. This strategy has allowed Commonwealth to capitalize on the opportunities of acquiring existing real estate then implementing strategic operational changes, adding services, and renovating and expanding the communities to achieve superior financial results. Richard developed CSL through acquisitions, financings (HUD, FNMA, FREDDIE, CMBS, and Conventional), renovation and expansion projects, and strategic dispositions. Richard graduated from James Madison University and recently served as Vice Chair of the Virginia Assisted Living Association as well as serving on the Jefferson Area Board on Aging.
Vicky Morris – Chief Financial Officer
Vicky oversees financial operations for all Commonwealth communities and their affiliates. She brings 20 years of experience managing the financials and operations of assisted living communities. In addition to periodic financial statements, her responsibilities include complex cash flow analysis, lender reporting (FHA, FNMA, FREDDIE, and Conventional), proforma development and budgeting for acquisitions, additions and expansions, audits, and all government financial reporting. She oversees the financial record keeping for over 50 different business entities, preparation of numerous loan packages and due diligence for all acquisitions. Vicky also represents Commonwealth as a member of ALFA’s CFO Executive Roundtable.
Earl Parker – President and Chief Operating Officer
Earl is responsible for providing strategic direction and overall leadership and support to Commonwealth Senior Living (CSL). His experience includes more than 25 years of leadership roles in the hospitality and senior living industries. Prior to joining CSL, he was an integral part of the leadership and growth team for two large senior living owner/operators (Kisco Senior Living and Bell Senior Living) as well as founding and leading his own management company (The ELMS Group) for more than five years. Parker has led the successful acquisitions of more than 45 senior living communities and has supported more than 80 senior living communities across the country.
Earl earned his MBA from UNC Chapel Hill’s Kenan Flagler Business School and his B.S. degree in Hospitality Management from Johnson and Wales University. Earl is active in Argentum, VALA, NIC and ASHA as well as having been a past board member of NCALA.
Kevin Willis – Senior Vice President of Construction and Development
With more than 20 years experience in the construction industry, Kevin brings a comprehensive knowledge of the oversight required in construction projects, including the importance of proper planning and coordination to assure success. Kevin is involved with the Associated General Contractors of Virginia (AGCVA), where he previously served as Chairman of the Board of Directors, and is a past President of the Virginia Construction Industry Educational Foundation (VCIEF). He is a member of the Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) Construction Academy Advisory Board, and is a volunteer with the Building Goodness Foundation. Kevin is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, and also holds a Master of Business Administration from James Madison University.
Kristy Ruppe Craddock – Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing
Kristy joined Commonwealth Senior Living in 2016 with over 15 years’ experience in sales and marketing leadership within the senior living industry. She has successfully led many sales teams throughout her career encompassing Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care and CCRC’s. She distinguishes herself by building engaged top performing sales teams, designing compelling sales training focused on creating a unique customer experience and development of sales science analytics which have led to increased sales performance and revenue. Kristy has enjoyed building her experience in various markets and states from coast to coast, having worked for two other national organizations. Kristy received her Bachelor of Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a focus in Gerontology and Hospitality. Throughout her career, Kristy’s passion for seniors extends beyond her professional path, having been an active volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Association, local Senior Advocacy and Service organizations, serving in a variety of leadership capacities.
Tommy Comer – Chief Human Resource Officer
Tommy is responsible for developing and implementing Commonwealth’s human capital strategy. He provides senior level HR supervision to the company and leads company-wide HR operations, including employee relations, benefits, recruitment, and training and development. Tommy joined Commonwealth with more than 10 years of HR experience in a variety of industries, including assisted living, higher education, and retail. Previously, Tommy was the Regional HR Director for a vibrant west coast senior living company, overseeing the HR function at 22 communities in 11 states. Tommy possesses a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) from Argosy University, a Master of Business Administration from University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Arizona.
Ed Corbeil – Senior Vice President of Operations
Ed is a 19 year veteran of the senior living industry, starting as an Executive Director and progressing into multi-community operational leadership positions. Ed has worked with Sunrise, Elmcroft and prior to joining Commonwealth Senior Living (CSL) in 2015 he was a Regional Director of Operations with Blue Harbor, overseeing the leadership of multiple assisted living properties in New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Florida.
With CSL, Ed leads our team of Regional Vice Presidents who directly support all operational aspects of our communities, including financial performance, regulatory compliance, sales execution, overseeing the standards of operation, and improving our desired outcomes of happy residents, happy families, happy associates and superior financial performance. Ed holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Temple University and a Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitative Services from East Stroudsburg University. Ed is also an active member of Argentum’s Public Policy Roundtable, the former Chair of PALA, and the current Vice Chair of VALA.
Giovanni Montague Sneed MS, RN, LALA, CDAL, C-AL, CDP – Senior Vice President of Resident Care
Giovanni is a post baccalaureate trained clinician and a 20-year veteran of the senior living industry, having worked in clinical and operations at both the community and regional levels. Giovanni holds a Masters Degrees in Community Health Professions with a Concentration in Healthcare Management, from Old Dominion University. In addition, Giovanni earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Old Dominion University and a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing from Western Governor’s University. Giovanni provides overall strategic direction and support for our clinical/resident care programs and initiatives and is responsible for assuring our residents receive high quality services and care and that our communities remain in strong compliance with individual state licensing standards. She is a Registered Nurse with a multi-state license and is a Licensed Assisted Living Administrator and Preceptor in the state of Virginia. Giovanni is a Certified Assisted Living Nurse by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, a Certified Director of Assisted Living, and a Certified Dementia Practitioner.
Sandi K. Flores, RN
Sandi is a Registered Nurse with 32 years of experience in providing clinical management, consulting and staff training in the assisted living industry. For decades assisted living providers throughout the United States have utilized Ms. Flores’ expertise for interim staffing and clinical management needs. From one-time consulting to ongoing support, Ms. Flores has worked seamlessly with assisted living communities’ management associates and clinical staff to implement proven management strategies and ensure residents receive the highest level of care.
In addition to a Registered Nurse degree from Palomar College, School of Nursing, Ms. Flores is a Certified Assisted Living Nurse by the American Assisted Living Nurses Association and a Certified Gerontological Nurse by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Ms. Flores is licensed by the State of California as a Certified Residential Care Administrator. Ms. Flores is also currently approved to provide education by several states and industry associations.
Over the course of her career Ms. Flores has received numerous awards and honors. Most recently, in 2014, Ms. Flores was the recipient of the American Assisted Living Ethel M. Mitty Scholarship award for successful clinical practice.
