Apprenticeships at Commonwealth Senior Living

At Commonwealth Senior Living, our goal is to improve the lives of seniors, their families, and each other. We wouldn’t be able to accomplish this mission without our dedicated frontline associates living out our Core Values each day. We invest in our people and “DO the RIGHT thing” by making sure we provide our associates with the proper training they need to advance their career. While getting paid as you learn new skills, our apprenticeship program aligns perfectly with these goals.

We have joined missions to grow our healthcare workforce with Argentum and Hamilton-Ryker through the Healthcare Apprenticeships Expansion Program (HAEP). This program helps address the skills gap in the healthcare industry by growing a strong network of associates with industry-identified needs and allows us to support our associates in building career paths for roles like caregivers, CNAs, LPNs, and RNs.

What is an apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships are structured learning programs used to train workers in a particular career. They define career paths, lay out on-the-job training, and classroom (including online) learning for advancement.

What are the requirements to become an apprentice?
Candidates must be at least 18 years old to participate and have a high school diploma or GED. Acceptance to, continuation in, and graduation from the program depends on several critical factors – proficiency, the ability to complete tasks as described, and the physical ability to do the job.

How does the apprenticeship work?
Apprenticeships pay you to learn, not the other way around. It’s an earn-while-you-learn program, so you’re the one being paid. There are no student loans, no heavy tuition bill, and the only investment is your time, effort, and energy. As you complete steps in your training, there will also be an opportunity for salary increases.

If a career where you’re able to make a direct impact on the lives of seniors and their families interests you, start the journey of learning the skills you need as a healthcare professional with our paid apprenticeship program today.
