Country music legend, Glen Campbell was known for such hits as "Wichita Lineman" and "Rhinestone Cowboy" as well as a variety show and movie appearances. In his final years, Campbell struggled with something that our residents and family members know well: Alzheimer's disease. After decades of performing on stage, for TV, movies and recording albums, Glen Campbell toured the country in his farewell tour in 2012. He had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's a few years' earlier showing signs of memory loss and confusion. Director James Keach and his crew documented both the performances and his life off stage.
In the film we watch as his wife, Kim Campbell redirects him when he gets frustrated. His adult children play music with him and prompt him with lyrics when he forgets. The documentary shows both a glimpse into the outstanding talent of this American icon as well as the very familiar love and struggles that all of our families face. It is hard to see a loved one changing before you.
