Commonwealth Senior Living at Churchland House is a warm, welcoming environment that feels like home. Our loving team takes care of the housekeeping, maintenance, cooking and linen services to make sure our residents have the quiet dignity of their own suites without any of the worries. But life at our community goes much further than that.
Each morning our residents wake up to a homemade breakfast lovingly made by our Dining Services team. After breakfast, we begin our day with gentle chair yoga, morning greetings and devotions, or by participating in one of our many clubs like our Garden Club.
In the afternoons, we continue the fun with games like Finish the Phrase, Word within a Word, and of course, Bingo! We also enjoy afternoon adventures within a few miles to Amedeo's Bakery or for a ride on the ferry.
As our adventures for the day are wrapping up, our Sweet Memories Neighborhood begins dinner with our Special Touch program. This program provides our residents with a warm towel scented with lavender to sooth and prepare them to relax and promote a restful night's sleep. We also start off our lunch time with a citrus scented towel which is used for its awakening and refreshing qualities, as well as for stimulating appetites. You can even try this at home!
After our weeks come to a close, we continue the excitement through the weekend. Sometimes we spend the evening at Happy Hour, reminiscing during courtyard conversations, or at one of the many amazing local restaurants. Other times, we enjoy a relaxing weekend of movies, Saturday Stretches, and Sunday Strolls. In addition to these activities, Commonwealth Senior Living at Churchland House is conveniently located near Bon Secour Health Center at Harbour View, Sentara Belle Harbour, and Bon Secour Maryview Medical Center for any assistance our residents need outside of our community.

Improving the lives of seniors and their families is central to everything we do at Commonwealth Senior Living. Understanding who our residents are and their history allows us to provide person-centered care in ways that are both positive and meaningful to the residents, their families, and our team. We are grateful to have our residents' loved ones recognize our ability to do so at Commonwealth Senior Living at Churchland House as we strive to welcome residents "home." Selena says, "The residents that are here - it's about them. This is their home. We are here for them, and we love them, and we are supposed to make them feel special every day."
