Sharing Your Life Goes Both Ways

Sharing Your Life Goes Both Ways

We recently heard a story from one of our caregivers that made us all stop and take a moment of gratitude. Theresa Davis-Acosta had a family member living at Commonwealth Senior Living at Kings Grant. As she came to visit and got to know the community, she saw the relationships that caregivers developed with the residents. She was so moved by the energy and the joy of the team that she decided to join us as a caregiver. Here's what she had to say about it.

"I totally love working at Kings Grant. Being a part of the residents daily life and sharing my time with them is so rewarding. This picture is of me and Lucille Anderson. Everyday she makes me smile with a hug and a kiss on the cheek. She loves to play cards and go for walks outside. On one occasion, I was not having a super day, and as much as I tried to hide it, Lucille knew. She came to me, took my hand and we danced to the music. It was wonderful again.  These residents are so full of wisdom. I love to talk to them and share with them. I find it so interesting to hear about their life and what they have lived through. I feel so lucky to be a part of that."

It is truly a blessing to learn about our residents' lives, hear their stories, and share our lives with them as they do with us. For our caregivers, this is not a job. It is a calling. Thank you to all of those who came when they were called. We are grateful for you. Click the button below to learn more about career opportunities in caregiving.
